Michelle Larivee

Co-Founder & CEO, WTHN

After a ski accident resulted in dislocated vertebrae in her neck and chronic pain, WTHN Co-Founder and CEO Michelle Larivee was left with few healing options. At the suggestion of her doctor, she tried acupuncture and felt immediate pain relief. Over time she also experienced holistic benefits including better sleep, less stress, and a stronger immune system/fewer sick days. Acupuncture quickly became Michelle’s favorite time of the week. Later, acupuncture helped Michelle get pregnant with her son Sam.

Michelle’s deeply personal health transformation through acupuncture combined with her life-long drive to help others lead healthier lives inspired her to create WTHN, the first natural healing brand for acupuncture and herbs. Founded in November 2018, WTHN is where centuries of tried and true ancient medicine meet modern science to deliver therapies with deeply healing powers.

Prior to WTHN, Michelle spent 13 years at the intersection of finance, healthcare and social impact. She began her career as an investment banker at Merrill Lynch where she structured debt financings for the country’s largest hospitals and academic medical centers. Michelle then joined IFC - the  private equity arm of the World Bank - where she made investments in the pharmaceutical and consumer goods sectors across Africa, the Middle East, and South America. Michelle also spent 5 years leading teams at Deloitte Consulting. During that time she was seconded to the World Economic Forum where she helped lead their Blended Finance Initiative to expand public-private partnerships in emerging markets, a priority initiative launched at Davos. Michelle’s experience includes multi-stakeholder relationship and ecosystem building, and designing innovation solutions. She has structured over $5B across asset classes.

Michelle has a BSFS from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service,  an MBA from the Wharton School, and an MA from the University of Pennsylvania.

Michelle is bringing her dream to New York’s Flatiron wellness hub with WTHN’s first retail studio, located at 20 W. 22nd Street between 5th and 6th Avenues in the heart of New York’s Flatiron wellness hub. Visit www.WTHN.com.
